Ugly but done ...
Whew!! I thought for a minute you were talking about me!

Neat, crisp work, Lance. It's easy to see beyond the cleanup. This is where
you see the fruits of your labor.

In looking at the other thread about letting in the lining... (man your work is clean) ... It looks like you are using triangle kerfed lining on the top and reverse kerfed lining on the back. Any special reason for this?

Thanks Brock -

No special reason, right now I like the look of reversed kerfing, the triangle stuff I got from Rob Busto (Paragon) its the 100 year old Sitka from a piano top. Just wanted to give it a try.

Speaking of Rob, where has he been?

That's a beauty Lance! Excellent workmanship as usual.

I've got some black acacia that looks just like that, gonna use it on my next one.

By the way, Lance, you really have a superior eye for matching wood colors. Your instruments always have an especially harmonious look.
Hey Bob, I'm not much into the abalone bling look for perfling. It just seems to distract to much from the rest of the guitar. Any chance you will offer Mapalone in the future?
Don they are not a stock item because there isn't a big demand for them but I would be glad to make them up for anyone that wants them in most of the woods that I have.

Lance impeccable work as usual.Bobc38686.8410069444

start making em, Bob.

Make em and they'll come, just need to do a little "show & tell" marketing.

Lance that is a very nice and well thought out wood combo and workmanship - it looks great already! May I ask what the width of the top purfling is and was it tough to bend?Anthony Z38686.8971643519

Thanks Anthony - if I recall correctly the top purf was about .100 total width. It bent with out any resistance at all. That said, this (IS) a dreadnought Not to curvy ifya know what it mean

Anthony the purfling is made up with black and white fibre. One thing I did notice is that it is very flexable due to the fibre and bends rather easily.

Thanks Lance and Bob, my initial reaction when I saw the purfling was how the heck can you bend something that wide and thin. I gather you bent it on your BluesCreek bender and taped them together or taped to your binding? [Sorry for all the questions].

Bob, I echo the comments above -- if you offer this purfling others will buy it. The thing I really like about Lance's is that the wide maple part of the purfling doesn't smack you in the eyes like abalone purfling can on some guitars -- its so much more subtle. (Don't get me wrong -- I like the look of abalone purfling on some guitars).

Anthony - I didnt do any prebending, I just pushed it dry into the pufling ledge and taped it on place, then used CA to glue it down. After that i added the snakewood. Sort of backwards to how you would do shell purflings.
